St Johns Hall Gallery (Centre for the Enquiring Mind)
This open day is a celebration of the establishment of a permanent centre for the arts in Barmouth. A new management company (Community Interest Company) is to be formed to oversee a varied range of activities including a changing programme of exhibitions, a media centre, a library, a programme of talks, activities like yoga and tai chi, a stage for performances of music and theatre, workshops, studio space for at least 2 resident artists and comfortable places to sit, meet, drink coffee, contemplate, discuss and so on.
It also signifies the beginning of a programme of restoration during which the beautiful old church hall will be restored to its original glory, and even improved.
This open day will introduce you to all these changes, give you a chance to meet the people involved, hear about out plans for the future, meet other creative people in the area, and learn about how you can become involved yourself.
