St John’s Hall Gallery is very pleased to be showing the latest work of the Mawddach Art Group for the second year running, and to be supporting this group of talented amateur artists.
The preview for the exhibition is on Monday 6th August starting at 7:30pm and the exhibition is on from 7th to 31st August. The exhibition will be open 11am to 4:30pm Tuesday to Sunday, closed on Mondays.
These celebration evenings at the start of each guest exhibition at the gallery are becoming pleasant parties. All welcome. There will be wine and soft drinks available, but if you are able to support the running costs of the gallery by bringing a bottle that will be gratefully received. The evening will include acoustic folk music from the musicians who meet regularly on a Monday evening.
The Mawddach Art Group has been meeting once a week for over 20 years. There are 14 members, all amateur, some with formal training, others self-taught. All members are now over 60 years old. There are no restrictions, as such, when it comes to media. “It depends on what you’re prepared to carry up the stairs to the school room above Christ Church! We all have one thing in common – we love to create – be it painting, drawing, collage, sculpture or photography,” says Ann Hickebottom, who organises the group’s exhibitions.
Work in the exhibition will be for sale unless otherwise indicated.
